NexVolt ("we", "us", or "our") operates nexvolt.io (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our Site, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with any of its terms, please discontinue use of the Site.

1a. Information You Provide Directly

  • Calculator inputs: Monthly electricity bill amount, roof area, location (postcode/region), and property type. This data is used solely to compute your solar savings estimate and generate a shareable result card.
  • Lead form: If you request a Solarvest product offer, we collect your full name, email address, and WhatsApp number. You provide explicit consent before submission.
  • Newsletter subscription: Your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter.

1b. Information Collected Automatically

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent, and referring URL — collected via server logs.
  • Cookies: We use first-party session cookies for functionality and third-party cookies for analytics and advertising (see Section 4).
  • Usage data: Interaction events (button clicks, calculator steps completed) collected via PostHog analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the solar savings calculator.
  • To deliver your requested product offer to Solarvest on your behalf (with your consent).
  • To send newsletter emails you have opted into (you may unsubscribe at any time).
  • To analyse site usage and improve user experience.
  • To serve relevant advertisements through Google AdSense.
  • To comply with applicable laws and protect against fraud.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • Solarvest Energy Sdn Bhd: Only when you explicitly submit a lead form and provide consent for them to contact you.
  • Service providers: Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (web hosting), Resend (transactional email), PostHog (analytics), Sentry (error monitoring) — all under data processing agreements.
  • Google: For advertising services as described in Section 4.
  • Legal authorities: When required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Google AdSense & Cookies

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this Site. Google AdSense uses cookies, including the DART cookie, to serve ads to our visitors based on their prior visits to our Site and other sites on the Internet. The use of the DART cookie enables Google and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google Ad and Content Network Privacy Policy.

Third-party ad servers or ad networks use technologies such as cookies, JavaScript, or web beacons in their respective advertisements and links that appear on nexvolt.io. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and personalise the advertising content you see.

5. Data Retention

  • Calculator results: Retained indefinitely in aggregated, anonymised form for the neighbourhood leaderboard.
  • Lead data: Retained for up to 3 years from submission, or until you request deletion.
  • Newsletter subscribers: Retained until you unsubscribe.

6. Your Rights (PDPA Malaysia)

Under the PDPA, you have the right to:

  • Access personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing (this may limit your use of certain features).

7. Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
